CCEE Stamper's Sketch Challenge

It's Thursday, and time for another CCEE sketch challenge. Before I get buzzed, which I know is coming!! :o( I do realize I left out the flowers. I forgot about the twist. I know, shame, shame, shame. But if you click on the photo, you can see that there appears to be flowers in the dp. Hopefully that saves me. And, I'm hoping the fact that I made this card for the very person who designed this sketch, might help too. Joanne loves lighthouses, and I thought this JustRite image from the By the Sea set, with the "Friends" senitment from the JR set Cherish the Memories, would be perfect.

The lighthouse is watercolored with Tombows, and I added some Frosted Lace stickles to the beams emanating from the light. The dp is Le Chateau and along with the Rhinestones, is by Kaisercraft.

I scored a double line above the EK Success border, and added some glitter to the negative lines. My SIL shared that clever idea with me while visiting from out of state this summer. Thanks Cheryl!! :o)

That sums up my card for today. Now, we'd love to have you join us in this challenge. It's always fun to see how stamper's interpret sketches and challenges. Head on over to the CCEE Stamper's Blog for all the details.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

A Birthday Blog Hop for Julee

Woo-Hoo!! It's Julee's birthday today, and I am so excited to be a part of this blog hop to wish her the happiest of days. If you've come from Amber's blog, you are on the right track. And if you would like the complete blog hop list, head to the Verve Blog HERE.

Hugs and Happy Birthday Wishes Julee!! I hope you have one of the most fantastic of days today!!

Julee is one of the sweetest most generous people I know, so I knew I wanted to make this card as special as I could with some of my favorite tools and embellishments. I started off with some of my favorite dp this season called Cappella by Basicgrey. I then framed the sentiment, from the Verve set Big Wish, with the Tim Holtz Styled Labels die, and the Sizzix Ornate Labels #6 die, along with the Spellbinders Long Rectangles. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine's Smokey Gray ink.

I added some bling with some Zva Creative Rhinestone Flourishes, and a Prima Rhinestone embellishment. On the right of the card, I added a bow made with Seam Binding Ribbon with a beautiful rose added to the center.

The border was made with an EK Success Punch.

I also decorated the inside using the butterfly from the Verve set Beautiful Kindness and some more Zva Creative Rhinestones..

That's about it for my card. Now check out what Tanya's made for Julee's Birthday.

I'm back with a CCEE Sketch Challenge!

Wow!! It's hard to believe that I haven't posted a card to my blog since June 26. And even then the posts were far between. I'm sorry for my extended absence, but I have been taking a break from stamping for two main reasons. One, I've had a bunch of family visiting from out of state for a few weeks, and two, I wanted to get some projects around the house finished. It's been hard not inking up stamps, but I've enjoyed the time I've had with family and friends, and the little trips we've been taking.

So, now that you are up to speed, let me share the card I made for this week's CCEE sketch challenge provided by my dear friend Joanne. Each week, this month, she's provided a sketch, and each week there's a twist. This time we had to have a Christmas theme!! What fun!! I've just received some wonderful new JustRite images from Stamper's Dream, and have been itching to get them inky.

Here's the sketch we were to use:

Here's what I did with this week's sketch:

I thought these sweet little Christmas themed JustRite Circles and frames from the new set called Holiday Cheer, would fit beautifully as a center to one of the Spellbinders' Snowflakes. I covered the flakes with Glossy Accents (Inkssentials), and then coated them with some Mica Flakes by Melissa Frances. Don't ya just love the fun texture and sparkle? *sigh*

The little flakes are coated with some ultrafine transparent glitter, and I added a sweet swirly border with an EK Success punch. Finally, I added a bit of stitching to the strips and back panel, and a couple of score lines directly above the punched border.

That about sums it all up. Now, we'd love to have you join us in this week's challenge, so make a Christmas card with this sketch, and use Mr. Linky over on the CCEE Stamper's Blog.

Thank you so very much for stopping by. I hope you're all having a fantastic week!!
Happy Stamping!!
