Dare to get Dirty ~ Distressing with Christina

My goodness!! August is just around the corner!! This summer is just flying by!! Well, I'm excited to be sharing some "Dare To Get Dirty" challenge cards the next few days. Today, I made a sample for Christina - aka: cmf1216 on Splitcoast Stampers. Her challenge was distressing. If you've frequented my blog enough, you'll know I LOVE both ink and paper distressing, so I used both on my card. :)

The sentiment is from the Verve set Words Cannot Express, the dp is Journey by Authentique, and the butterfly is a die from Marianne Design. Notice the little clothes pin? I added some glitter to it to bling it up a bit. I love me some sparkle!! I also added some sparkle to the butterfly with Versamark and Iridescent Ice ep by Stampin' Up!.

Well, that's it for today. Check back tomorrow to see a card I made with a Sketch designed by Amber ~ aka: AmberDawn on Splitcoast Stampers. I love me a good sketch!!

Viva la Verve August Week 1

Hello my stamping friends!! Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am. Today, though, I have a card, to share with you, that I made using Amber's sketch for the first Viva la Verve sketch for August. I used a sentiment from, the recently released Verve set, Words Cannot Express.

I stamped the sentiment with Vintage Sepia Versafine onto Fine Linen cs by Papertrey Ink, and diecut it with the Spellbinders' Tags 5 die. I then ink distressed the inside, while it was still in the die, with Pumice Stone Ranger Distress Ink.

I ink distressed the Kaisercraft wood heart with Pumice Stone ink as well, and added a trio of Kaisercraft rhinesones to the corner. The rhinestone studded tulle is from Prima, the seam binding ribbon is from MemrieMare, the Icy White Metallic String is from Pizzaz a Plenty, and the button is from PTI. Lastly, the paper is Conservatory by 7 gypsies.

That's it for today's card. I have many more to share with you next week, since it's SOAP week for Waltzingmouse, and there are Dare To Get Dirty challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers. (That's why I've been MIA for the last week...I've had a lot to get done for the first week of August.)

Be sure to stop by the Verve Forum to see the samples the other Divas have made, and to learn more about the Viva la Verve challenges.

Have a super weekend!!
Happy Stamping!!

Teapot Tuesday Riddle

It's time for another Teapot Tuesday Challenge, and this week's destination is for a young teenager who's been through quite a lot. His name is Jake, and he's scheduled for surgery #17 . Click HERE to learn more about Jake. For the challenge, we were encouraged to make a cheerful card with happy images, jokes, or riddles. I included a riddle that, according to my kids, is perfect for a teenage boy. Although I went....ewwwwwww. You can see why when you read the answer below.

I hope this brings a smile to Jake's face. :)

That's it for today folks. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful week!

A Couture Birthday

It's that time again. Time to Waltz with friends of Waltzingmouse!! How delishesly fun!! Just click on the image above, and it will take you to the Waltzingmouse ball room (or forum :).

This month's theme is a Birthday party, so I decided to mix it up a bit with a variety of WMS images. These are the sets I used: Frame it, Eat Cake, and You're Lovely.

The dp I used, for the card and the pieced dress, is Journey by Authentique. I also used a Prima Rose (Which I added some Silver Ice Stickles to) and leaves, some Maya Road tickets and a stick pin, and some Zva Creations and I-Rock rhinestones. All the papers were ink distressed with Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress Ink), and Onyx Black (Versafine). Here's a close up of the Couture dress. I added some tear drop Zva Creative Rhinestones to the bottom of the bodice. LOVE this image Claire has designed!

That about sums it up ya'll. Thank you so much for dropping by. Hope you're having a fantastic weekend!!

Happy Stamping!

A Summery Birthday Treat

It's time for another CCEE Stamper's Blog Challenge, and this week we were challenged to make a card/project with an ice cream image or sentiment since it's National Ice Cream Day July 17.

Well, since I don't own any ice cream images, I decided to make my own cone with a template by Linsey Rickett that I found on the Scor-Pal website. She calls them Ice cream cups.

See the sweet medallion I attached? I made it with a JustRite set called Elegant Charms. I love them. There are a variety of shapes and sentiments, and they come in handy for packages, or just to dress up a card. I got mine at Stamper's Dream.

To get the cone texture, I embossed it with the bottom portion of the Sizzix Embossing Folder Thank You Set #5, and lightly sanded it.

The ice cream portion of the cone was made with felt, and I added some Burlap String and a sweet little button.

Thanks so much for stopping. Be sure to check out the CCEE Stamper's Blog to see what summery treats the other gals are sharing.

Happy Stamping!

Christmas in July

(Click on the photo for a closer view)

I have another card to share with you today, that I made with images from the JustRite set Christmas Trimmings. You can get JustRite images, as well as a plethora of fun stamping and scrapping supplies, from Stamper's Dream. I stamped the wreath and garland directly onto the Webste's dp, colored them with Copics, and diecut them with Labels 15 from Spellbinders. I just love the holly leaves and berries. And the bow is separate so you can attach it wherever you please. This set has a wonderful variety of images to play with.

The dp is all from Webster's Pages Holiday Collection; including the bird. I just glued the dp to cardstock to make it strong, and cut him out. Lastly, I just sewed around the panels and added a couple of buttons.

That's it.
Thanks for dropping by!
Happy Stamping!

Teapot Tuesday: Birds and Daisies

Hello!! Happy Tuesday!! I'm excited to share a card with you today that I made with JustRite images that I got from Stamper's Dream. I LOVE birds, bird cages, bird houses...well, anything to do with birds. So when I saw these charming birdcages from the JustRite set Spread your wings, I knew I had to have them. I combined the birdcage with a sentiment from the JR set Elegant Charms. I love it when I can mix and match sets.

Now, this card was made for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge, and is going to a sweet lady named Rita who has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. She loves birds (a gal after my own heart), and the teapot we were to use had daisies on it, so we were to include 3 daisies, birds, and bees. Do you see the bees? No? Well, they're hiding behind the flowers. *grin*...no back door for me...lol

The medallion in the center of the ribbon was made with Silver Viva Decor gel and a Silicone button mold.

Now, before anyone says anything, I do realize the gray ruler is upside down. Well, that's the way they made the dp. There was a bright yellow "right-side-up" ruler underneath which I originally had, but decided to cover it up because it was blinding me in the photo. Since the card was all sewed up, there was no way to change the upside down ruler...*sigh*...handmade ya know. lol

That's it for today ya'll. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see what I've come up with with some more JustRite images.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a fantastic week!

Happy Stamping!!
Tosh

Sweet Baby

This past weekend, Verve released 3 new sets: New Mercies, Words Cannot Express, Small Phrases, along with 3 Plain Janes: Phillipians 1:6, Life is Good, Light Tomorrow, and they're fabulous. I took all the baby themed sentiments from the Small Phrases set, laid them out on a clear block, and stamped them with Versamark across my panel. I then heat embossed them with White ep, and sponged Tattered Rose Ranger Distress Ink over them.

To finish the card, I scored a border panel with my Scor-Buddy, diecut the border with a Lattice border die by Spellbinders, added a few pearls and buttons along with some ribbon and Bakers twine.

That about sums my card up for today. Be sure to stop by the Verve Blog to see all the diva favorites for this release.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Stamping!

TODAY'S Featured Set:

plus the Philippians 1:6, Light Tomorrow and Life is Good PJ's

It's the final day of the Verve Spotlighting. Have you liked what you've seen? Are the sentiments fabulous? The fonts beautiful? And the images charming? Today I decided to use the Viva la Verve sketch I'm hosting over in the Verve Forum, along with the Philippians 1:6 Plain Jane. I love this verse!! It's so encouraging!!

I framed it with a Circle and Lacey Circle die (Spellbinders), and sponged the inside with Old Paper and Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress Ink. I embossed some Webster's Pages dp with a Sizzix embossing folder, added some lace, Rhinestones, some seam binding ribbon and a button. The sweet little scallops were made with the mini-scallops die by Amuse.

Here's a close-up of the sentiment.

Verve Spotlight Hop Day 2 ~ Words Cannot Express

TODAY'S Featured Set:

It's day two of Verve's Spotlight Hop, and we're featuring the set Words Cannot Express. This set is full of wonderful sentiments of gratitude in a beautiful font.

I was inspired the other day by a photo of summer beach and poolside umbrellas, and thought I would use my Octagon die (Spellbinders), to recreate the look and make a thank you card.

If you click on the photos, you can see more of the detail on the umbrellas.

Here's a close-up of one of the sentiments included in this set.

I also added a continuation of the sentiment on the inside with a single umbrella topper.

Here's a close up of this beautiful sentiment.

Just leave a little shout-out in the comments as you hop about for a chance to win the entire July release! You can check out the Verve Blog for all the prize details and deadlines.

Verve Spotlight Hop Day 1 ~ New Mercies

It's time to shine our sneaky Verve spotlight on some brand new stamps! We're counting down to Verve's release party this Friday night, July 8, with THREE days of Spotlight Hops! Just leave a little shout-out in the comments as you hop about for a chance to win the entire July release! You can check out the Verve Blog for all the prize details and deadlines.

For my card today, I used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch 198, and chose to highlight the "Morning by morning" sentiment, from the set New Mercies, along with the sweet little sun and clouds. There is a fabulous variety of scriptures and sentiments in this set, as well as some beautiful flowers and solid leaf sprays. I know I'll find a lot of uses for this set. I added some ultrafine glitter to the sun, and the dp is all Blossom Soup by Jillibean Soup.

Okay, I rarely do this, but I couldn't decide which way I liked this card better. With the sentiment highlighted, or without...so I included both. :)

Tea-putting Tuesday

Hello and happy Tuesday!! Are ya all rested after celebrating July 4? As tradition goes at our house, my husband's brother, his wife and four boys came over for swimming, hot dogs, and of course setting off tons of fireworks. (legal ones....don't worry) It was a lot of fun.

Since it is Tuesday, I have a Teapot Tuesday card to share with you today. The destination this week is a young man, and new father, named Nathan, who recently found out he has myelogenous Leukemia. He loves golfing, playing basketball and bowling, so Cindy challenged us to make a golf themed card if we could. If not, anything sports related would be fine.

I don't have any golf images, so, I decided to make a golf ball with a scene. The "Hope" sentiment is from the Verve set Richly Blessed, the clouds were made with diecuts by Amuse, and the flag was made with a q-tip stick.

If you have a few moments to whip up a card and send it to Nathan, I'm sure he would appreciate the encouragement. Head on over to Cindy Motherway's blog: This is my story for all the details.

Thanks for dropping by. And thanks for all the kind comments you've been sending my way. They just warm my heart!!
Happy stamping my friends!!

Waltzingmouse July Release

It's Release Day over at Waltzingmouse Stamps and the DT is hopping!! Woo-Hoo!! And what a fabulous release it is too. 8 sets of pure stamp gorgeousness!! Claire is starting off the hop. So if you haven't been there yet, head on over there. You won't want to miss a thing. I assure you.

I have some very clean and simple projects to share with you today. Since it's the weekend leading up to the United States' Independence day, I was inspired to make my projects fit that theme. So, for my card, I made a patriotic cake, with the new Eat Cake set, complete with a topping of blue sparklers ( in which I used a flourish image from the Flourishes~Scallops~Dots set.)

I used Perfect pearls to get the shimmer and glow of the flourishes for this CD case. I just love the look of the flourish in the brilliant blue. I reminded me of fireworks. The sentiment is from the Cameo to Go set.

Like I said, Clean and simple today. Next up on the hop is Sarah. You have a chance to win a Prize too. So be sure to check out all the blogs and leave a comment in order to be entered into a random drawing to win a stamp set of your choice. You have until July 2, 11:59 EST, 10:59 Central and 8:59 Pacific.

Thanks for visiting this week. I hope you've been inspired!
Have a fabulous weekend, with Happy Stamping!!
Tosh
