I went clean and simple today for Day 2 of Verve's Spotlight Hop.  We're featuring the set called Merry and Bright, and I thought the fonts looked modern and whimsical.  Thus the clean and fun design.  The sentiment is embossed with White EP, and the bg is dry embossed using a Sizzix Embossing Folder.

Today we're featuring the set Peace on Earth.  The sentiments are beautifully fonted and lend themselves to a variety of ways to showcase them with special framing.  I stamped the "magic" sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with Black EP (Judikins).  It was framed using an Antique Frame and Accents die (Spellbinders), and I used flowers and leafy dies as embellishments.

It's Day One of Waltzingmouse's October Release Peeks, and I couldn't be more excited to share these unique images with you!  We're Featuring a set called Yonder Star, and a Background image called Yonder Star Background

I have two projects to share with you, and my first features the star in all it's glory.  I just stamped it with Versamark, and embossed it with Fantasy White ep by Sweet Stamps.  I love the sparkle.  I fussy cut some of the layers of the star and popped them up for a bit of dimension.  The horizontal strip is the Yonder Star Background stamped with Pistachio Memento ink.   I  scored the bg panel with my Scor-Buddy and added the cowboy sentiment with Onyx Black Versafine.

This card (or plaque...whatever I want it to be... it's 6x6) was stamped using the same star as well as a small distressed star.  I used two Memento Inks:  Peanut Brittle and Teal Zeal.  I loved the pattern so much I didn't want to cover any of it.  I also spritzed some Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels) over it to give it a more distressed look.

That's it for Day 1.  There are 3 more days of exciting Waltzingmouse Reveals before these sets are available.  So be sure to stop by the next few days.

Here's a Hop list in case you've missed a stop.

Thanks for visiting!
Happy Stamping!

For the Love of ODBD Hop

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's Alumni Team's bi-monthly For the Love Blog Hop.  This week the Alumni team along with some of the ODBD designers are featuring a hop For the Love of Animals! Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, check the ODBD blog for full list of links.  One of the post is a hop hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate.  So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love!  You have until Wednesday, November 7th at 6 pm.   Enjoy all the beautiful designs featuring For the Love of Animals!

If you've arrived here from Silke's inspiring blog, you're on the right track.

I chose to use the set Father's Day.  I actually took a picture of a moose similar to this image while vacationing in Alaska.  My husband wasn't too happy about it because I was quite close and moose can be more dangerous then bear.  But I was at the base of the steps on a bus and I figured I could back-pedal up stairs faster than he could get to me...right?  *grin*

Anyway, this set is called Father's Day, but it doesn't have to be limited to only that holiday.  I made this for my husband because I'm going out of town for 4 days and thought I'd leave this card for him.  This set is very versatile.

That's it for my card.  Next on the hop is the fabulously talented and equally as kind, Grace.

Thanks for visiting!
Happy Stamping!!

Gorgeous...Inside and Out

I'm hosting the VLV Sketch challenge over at the Verve Forum on Splitcoastampers and I'd love it if you decided to participate.

I have a fabulous daughter who's beautiful inside and out and I couldn't be more proud of her.  She's away at college, and there are days where she just needs to be reminded how special she is, so I made this card to send with a few little "pick-me-up" care package goodies.  :)

The sentiment is from the Verve set Learning to Sail, and I combined it with the Jotted Heart from Love Notes (Which happens to be on sale too. *wink*).  Both were diecut with A Cut Above Dies:  Mini Classy Label and Jotted Heart.  See the "x's" along the border?  They're from the Verve set Borderline.  I thought they were fun and fit the funky style of this card.  Which is right up my daughter's alley.  No frills here.  :)

Stop by the Verve Forum for all the details on how you can win some Verve by participating in the sketch challenges!!

Have a super fabulous weekend!
Happy Stamping!

WMS October Blog Party

I can hardly believe it's the 17th of October already.  Maybe if the weather would cooperate and cool off it would feel a little more like Halloween is around the corner.

Well, the calendar says it is, and I love working with the Waltzingmouse Halloween images, so for this month's WMS Blog Party, I chose to combine Cicely at Halloween with this fun Spooky Sign Post by Cottage Cutz.  The theme for this month's Blog Party is a color challenge.

Here's a picture of the colors we were to use.

I colored Cicely with Copics, and created the background scene using Ranger Distress Inks.
The words on the signs are all from one of the sentiments in the Cicely at Halloween set.  I just used the Ink Isolating technique that I used HERE, and it was easy to isolate the specific words on each sign.  The little bats are from the WMS set Midnight Feast.

Well, that's it for today's WMS Blog Party card.  Be sure to stop by the WMS Blog and see how others incorporated these fun colors!

Thanks so much for visiting!
Happy Stamping!

Viva la Verve....hello

Andrea has a sweet sketch over in the Viva la Verve Forum!!  I had a lot of fun with it using the Verve sets Brighter Days and With Love.  I stamped the flower from Brighter days onto the decorative paper, cut out 3 of the layers, popped them up with dimensionals, and attached them to a black die cut base using the Scalloped Flowers die (A Cut Above ~ Verve).  The sweet "hello" sentiment is from the With Love set.  I love the charming script.

Be sure to check out the VLV Forum.  You have an opportunity to win some Verve.  Who can pass up an opportunity like that?

Thanks for stopping by!!
Have a fabulous weekend my friends, and
Happy Stamping!!

ODBD For the Love of Gratitude Hop...

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's Alumni Team's bi-monthly For the Love Blog Hop.  This week the Alumni team, along with some of the ODBD designers, are featuring a hop For the Love of Gratitude! You have until Wednesday, October 24th at 6 pm.   Enjoy all the beautiful designs using For the Love of Gratitude!

I have the honor of starting this week's hop, and I'm excited to share what I've come up with.

I chose to use the Serve the Lord set for today's challenge.  I love the poppies (being from California... ;) So I started by stamping them, with Tuxedo Black (Memento), onto Cryogen White cardstock.  I then colored them with copics, cut them out and pieced them onto a kraft piece that I stamped with Onyx Black Versafine.  I layered the lacy circle onto a kraft piece that I die cut using two Marianne design Creatables dies:  Anja Corner and Anja Edge. (I placed some white cardstock behind the die cut panel to make it pop.  The embossed portions were brushed with some Fresh Snow Papertrey Ink.

Lastly I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the petals and leaves, along with some ribbon and Natural Burlap String.  That about sums it all up.

Next up on the hop is the super sweet and talented Betty

Thanks for visiting!!
Happy Stamping!!

I had some fun combining Waltzingmouse Stamps backgrounds with Ranger Distress Inks today.

You can make any shapes or patterns you like.  The possibilities are endless.  I started with a 3 1/2" x 5" piece of white cardstock and cut my pattern out with an exacto knife.  I then took each panel separately and inked it up with a Ranger Distress ink color. (not too heavy with the ink yet.)

Next, I inked each pattern with Versamark ink and Clear Embossed it.  Lastly I added some more ink to each panel to give it a deep, rich color, and inked the edges with some Black Soot to separate the panels more.  That's it.

Here's a list of the inks and stamped images:

Stamps:  Heirloom Patterns, Off Beat Backgrounds and Eat Cake (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Inks:  Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, Peacock Feathers, Walnut Stain, Crushed Olive, and Black Soot

Hope you're having a blessed week!!  We're finally out of the high temps and enjoying some 70's.  Doors and windows are finally open!!  Woo-Hoo!!

Happy Stamping my friends!!

Verve World Card Making Blog Hop

Welcome to the World Card Making Day edition of the Verve Diva Inspirations Hop!  Along the hop this month we're debuting FIVE brand new plain janes that just hit the store today, so grab a drink and hop along to see a fresh mix of old and new Verve and maybe even win a prize! You can find out all the prize details and see the full reveal of the new plain janes over on the Verve Blog today.

If you've arrived here from the super sweet Teresa's Blog, you're on the right track.  If not, be sure to start at the beginning at the lovely Betty's Blog.  So, now for my project...

My daughter's roommate in college loves to bless others with random little notes of encouragement throughout the week.  No one knows when or where they're going to receive them.  Her thoughtfulness inspired me to create this framed cork board with little notes of encouragement.  Verve is full of sets and Plain Janes that were perfect for my little board and I thought the newest additions would make great backgrounds and accents to the little cards.

I stamped the Square Medallion Plain Jane, with Onyx Black Versafine, directly onto some sticky back Cork Board.  I stuck it to some Foam Board and inserted it into the frame.

I framed the girl's names at the top using one of the Fancy Framed Tags One (Spellbinders) dies.  It's hard to see against the black frame, but it's the same frame I used on the card below.

The little notes were all diecut using Verve's Round Rectangle Die.  The backgrounds on the cards were all stamped with various Plain Janes and images.  The colored images are some of the new medallions called Loopy Medallion and Loopy Petals.  I also used the Square Medallion on occasion.   I'll list all the stamp sets and Plain Janes at the bottom of the post.  It's quite a substantial list.  :)

The sentiment on the card is one of the new Plain Jane's called So Sweet, and I loosely used Julee's World Card Making Sketch found below.

Here you can see all the encouragement cards I created.  I didn't think you'd want to look at 18 individual photos, so if you're interested in finding where you can get these encouraging sentiments, I've included the list below.

That's it for my project, and I'm the caboose of this hop.  I hope you've enjoyed yourself and have been inspired.

Happy Stamping.
