Power Poppy Peeps!

Is it Friday already?  Woo-Hoo!!  I am so ready for the weekend!!  This week has been crazy!
And, being that it's Friday, it's time for another Power Poppy Peeps Challenge.  All you have to do is make a card or project using Power Poppy images, link it up HERE, and you have an opportunity to be featured on the Power Poppy Blog, and you'll be entered into a drawing to win some beautiful Power Poppy stamps!

I don't know if there are yellow Geraniums or not, but I was inspired by the colors in this charming My Mind's Eye designer paper.  I just LOVE this sweet little potted Geranium with the little can.  It's from the Geraniums Take Two stamp set, and it's just absolutely charming.  I colored the blooms with Copics, and added a sweet little tag.  Easy as that.

Now for some more inspiration, check out what these Bloom Brigade gals have to share:

Here's a list of the Copics I used:  Y35, Y06, G28, G24, G21, YG11, BG15, BG13, BG11, BG72, T5, T3, T2, T0

Thanks for dropping by my friends!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend, I know I'm looking forward to it!

            Happy stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Hop

It's finally here!!  All the stamp sets we've been previewing are now available for sale!!  You also have an opportunity to win some WMS stamps.  All you have to do is leave comments on the WMS Design Team Blogs, and you will be entered to win.  You will have until midnight on August 29 to leave comments, and a winner will be announced on Claire's blog on Saturday, August 30th.

Now for the Hop.  If you've arrived here from Teresa's Blog, you are on the right track.  If not, Claire will have the hop list HERE.

I don't mind telling ya, I saved my favorite project for last.  When I saw Claire's gorgeous Little Darlings images, I knew I wanted to make a wall hanging for our nephew's new daughter.  I stamped the vintage pram onto canvas with Black Stazon ink and heat set it with a heat tool.  I then sewed around the edges and distressed them.  I did the same with the sentiment, which is from the Little Darlings Sentiments set, only it was stamped onto a piece of cotton.  The rest is just lace and fabric scraps, as well as some rose trim, buttons, and a flower I made with ribbon embellishments, a crocheted flower and vintage button.

Here's a close-up so you can see the pram detail.  It's exquisite!!  And it stamps beautifully!  You can click on the image for an even closer look.

That's it for my project today.  Next up on the hop is the super talented and even sweeter Kelly!!

Thanks so much for stopping by this week, and thanks for all the encouraging comments!!  You all are the best!!

Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Previews ~ Day 3

I can't believe it's Day 3 of the WMS August Release Previews already!!  Today I'm excited to share Halloween themed projects.  Claire, in my opinion, has the most creative and gorgeous Halloween images out there, and they're always fun to work with.   Today we're featuring 3 sets:  Great Big Owl, Boo and Friends and Peek-a-Boo Sentiments

Okay, I have to tell you, the moment I layed eyes on this Great Big Owl, I fell in love.  And Claire has included two different versions of this guy.  I wanted to color mine with Copics so I chose the outlined one, but the other would be great for making gift bags or boxes because it has an open window instead of that middle panel.  But isn't he stunning?!?!?!  I went out of the "Halloween Box" a bit and colored him blue and gray.  I think it makes him dark and mysterious.  I colored his eyes with a flourescent yellow to really make them pop!

Now, I wanted the owl to be the centerpiece of my card, so I included one of the sentiments on the inside!!   I have an admission to make too....can you see the smudge in the middle of the sentiment?  It's more prominent in-real-life.  Normally, being the perfectionist that I am, I would have started all over.  But, I thought the smear was kind of creepy and fitting, so left it.  To make the inside panel, I diecut the shape using Labels 28 (Spellbinders), and copy paper.  I laid the opening over my panel and sponged Pumice Stone (Ranger Distress Ink) along the inside.  I then stamped the sentiment over it.  The circle images are all included in the set too, and I added those by laying the diecut piece over my sponged area and stamped them and colored them with coordinating Copics.  The border was created using the splatter stamp from the Splat That set.

Copics:  B04, B02, B00, T5, T3, T0, FYG1

Now for a little whimsical turn.

Isn't this little ghost witch just adorable?  She's included in the Boo and Friends set.  I stamped her with Versamark onto Vellum, and embossed her with Black Sparkle embossing powder (Ranger).  I then colored the back with Copics, and mounted her directly onto the decorative paper, because I thought it was super fun to be able to see the Halloween print through her.  The tag was made using the largest tag die from the Waltzingmouse die set Stitched Tags, and the sentiment along the bottom is from one of the new sets (which I feature in the next project), Peek-a-Boo Sentiments.

Here's a close-up peek so you can see through the little ghost witch.  Isn't she just super fun!!!

Copics:  FV2, Y08, E99, 100

Now, there's a short story about how the inside sentiment came about.  I just fell in love with the little sentiment conversation bubbles and wanted to use one, but I already had a fairly busy "front".  My daughter said, "Why not add it to the inside?  Ghosts are invisible after all."  Perfect.  In our little imaginative heads, this little ghost witch disappears while eating candy.  I know...corny right?  But I still like it.  ;)

Now for my easy-peasy little Halloween treat bags, using the Peek-a-Boo Sentiments....

I thought it would be fun to add the sentiments to the littlest die from the Waltzingmouse Stitched Tags dies.  I then added them to little diecut bags that I made using a Papertrey Gift Bag die.  Aren't they cute?  And they are uber easy!!

I just added the "Boo" sentiment to the first tag, along with a spider sticker.

I LOVE the sentiment "jeepers creepers", and thought it fit beautifully with this spider dp!!

And for the last one, I just added the sentiment "Spooky", along with a boo sticker.

See the inside?  It fit 3 little sample size Ghiradelli chocolates inside.  Now that's a special treat!

So, did ya stick with me through this whole post?  It was a long one!!  Sorry, I had a lot to share!!

Now, if you haven't seen what the rest of the team has to share, you better head on over and check their blogs out for some "thrilling" inspiration!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for the WMS Hop.  The team has pulled out all the stops!!

Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Previews ~ Day 2

Hello Stamping friends!!  Welcome to Day 2 of our WMS August Release Previews!!  I hope you enjoyed yesterday's inspirational projects and I can't wait to share today's with you!  Today we're featuring 3 sets:  Little Darlings Sentiments, Little Darlings, and Tis the Season.

Little Darling Sentiments has a variety of wonderful sentiments fitting births, baby showers, baby announcements, etc.  I chose to make a modern "chalkboard" type card using two of the sentiments.  Claire has such a flair with her sentiments and phrases.  I love the "New Fangled Parent" phrase.  How fun is that!?!?!  And see that sweet scalloped panel?  That's a new Waltzingmouse Stamps die called the Picot Panel die.  Isn't it absolutely charming!!!

Now the Little Darling images are gorgeous sketch type drawings of vintage baby images.  This bassinet is stunning with all it's gorgeous detail.

Here's a close-up view so you can see Claire's attention to detail.  I added the "Special Delivery" sentiment too.  Isn't the font just stunning!?!  I colored the white Silk ribbon with the R11 Copic to match the decorative paper.

Lastly, Claire has designed a gorgeous, beautifully fonted set of large Christmas sentiments called 'Tis the Season.  I embossed the "Christmas Wishes" sentiment with Black Sparkle embossing powder (Ranger), and I also embossed the frame with Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder (Ranger).  The poinsettia was diecut out of gold cardstock by Denami Design.  I just love that elegant font!!

Well, that's it for today's preview.  Tomorrow we're celebrating Halloween.  I hope you'll join us!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Previews ~ Day 1

Hello stamping friends!!  Welcome to WMS's August Release previews!!  We have a wonderful variety of sets (8 to be exact) to share with you over the next 3 days leading up to our anticipated Release Day on August 27.  Today we are featuring 2 different sets, and my projects are just as different as can be.  The first set is called Vintage Baby Shower.

I LOVE anything vintage, but I also like modern.  So I thought I would combine the two a bit.  I used a modern shadowbox frame to frame my project.  I started by stamping, this beautifully detailed baby image, with Onyx Black Versafine, onto Vintage Cream card stock, and distressed it with Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink.  For the frame, I used the largest 3 dies from the Opulent Ovals die set (Spellbinders).  I started by lining up the largest and 3rd largest, taping, and then diecutting them out of black cardstock.  I then added the second largest die to the frame, but only embossed them this time so the middle die didn't cut through.  After I had the frame created, I added two layers of Black Embossing Powder to the frame (heat embossing between each layer), sanded it to age it a bit, and mounted it over the image with dimensional tape.  For the background, I just took some vintage looking tissue paper and "modpodged" it to some kraft cardstock and framed it in this shadowbox frame.  A bit time consuming because of the modpodge, but very easy to do.

Now for my project using the new set: Hello Happy Thanks

I'm always running short on masculine cards, so I took this opportunity to use this set with some "camo" colors.  It's fairly straight forward.  I just stamped the word "happy" 3 times using Memento inks, made it into a flagged banner and adhered it to the back panel with some Washi Tape.

That's it for me today ya'll.  Be sure and check out what the rest of the WMS design team has to share.  You won't want to miss a stop if you haven't been there already.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for some more absolutely charming inspiration!

     Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy Peeps Challenge with Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine

It's time once again for the Power Poppy Peep of the Week challenge, and I hope to see you participate.  It's always a delight to see what others come up with!!  Click HERE for all the details.

Do you ever notice that your "masculine" stash of cards is never quite as high as your "feminine" stash?  Is it even pretty close to non-existent? Well, my stash is always close to dwindling to nothing, and thankfully I had the Power Poppy set Play Ball to help me replenish it since my son just celebrated a birthday.

I love this super fun set!  There are many possibilities with the sentiments, banners, collage, etc.  I chose to alternate the directions of the stitching and stamp 3 different sentiments on the banners and color them with Copics.  For the first banner, I had to be break up the sentiment in order to make it fit, so I put repositionable tape over the areas I didn't want ink, stamped the sentiment and repeated until I had my banner created.  Easy-Peasy, and it was a "hit" with my son...whew!!  That's it for my card...

Just in case you missed it, Power Poppy took center stage over at the Scrapbook and Cards  Today blog with their Card Cafe Thursday! And today, there's another surprise! Head on over to their blog HERE to the and see how YOU could win a $25 gift certificate to the Power Poppy Shop!

Here are the Copics I used:  R89, R39, R37, R35 E59, E39, E37, E35, E31 T7, T5, T2, T0

Here's a list of the Bloom Brigade with projects to share today too!

Power Poppy Peeps Challenge

Hello everyone!!  It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Power Poppy Peeps Challenge.  And, anything goes.  Just make a project using any Power Poppy image (digital or stamp), and link it HERE.  You could be featured on the Power Poppy Blog and be entered to win Power Poppy images!!

Today, I made a card inspired by a couple of Splitcoaststampers challenges:  SC487 (Sketch), and TLC494 (Technique Challenge to use Watercoloring).

I used two Power Poppy sets today also:  Marcella's Mixtape and Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips

I used the Emboss Resist technique to make Marcy's gorgeous, delicate feather pop!  I just stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with White Embossing Powder.  I then took two different Spray Mists (Starburst-Lindy's Stamp Gang and Gingerbread Glimmer Mist-Tattered Angels), sprayed them onto my craft sheet and layed the cardstock, with my stamped image, on the sprayed surface.  After that, I added some rhinestones to the center of the feather, and some Gesso around the diecut image.  I embossed the background panels with 2 different embossing folders and scored the horizontal one.  For the sentiment, I diecut a little banner border using an EK Success border punch along the edge, and scored two little stripes.

That's it for my project today.  For some more Power Poppy inspiration, check out these Bloom Brigade Blogs:

Thanks for dropping by!  Hope you've been inspired!!
